There's no doubt that liquid lipsticks are having a moment right now. Everyone loves the saturated pigment and a 100% matte formula of liquid lipstick. And there's no denying that with the increasing popularity of this genre of lipstick, there has been an increase in their production as well. Every brand in the market is launching their own liquid lipstick and frankly, we love it!
So, our beloved online-beauty-portal-cum-cosmetic-brand Nykaa, launched their Matte-to-Last Liquid Lipstick around the beginning of this month and let me tell you, these are the most comfortable, yet reasonable liquid lipstick available in the market.
MY THOUGHTS
This is by far the best cosmetic product launched by Nykaa. The packaging is super cute, yet looks very luxe. They dry down quite fast and then don't budge unless you eat something oily. They are pretty pigmented and you get an opaque coverage with 1-2 swipes. However, the darker colors are more pigmented and more long-lasting than the lighter colors. The darker colors also tend to leave a stain behind. The thing that I personally like the most is that, they are named after Indian cities. It's really cute! I have six out of the ten shades. I didn't buy the light nudes and the hot pinks because they don't work for my complexion.
SHADES
MAHARANI
"If elegance was a dynasty, then you'd be the next-in-line for the crown! The intensity of this stunning deep maroon shade is as riveting as Jaipur's invincible Hawa Mahal. It's time to conquer the empire, my queen!" This is a beautiful deep red, indeed a very royal color. One of my favorites from the range!

GUWA-HOTTIE
"Just like the unexplored paradise, she's so much more than meets your eye! With big dreams in her eyes, and this ginger-nude on her lips, she's sure to raise the room temperature!" This is rusty-terracotta shade which is going to look bomb on any complexion. My favorite from the range!

MADRAS KAAPI
"For the go-getters of this world, who don't take no for an answer! A perfect melange of beauty and brains, your future is written in golden letters! This fabulous deep brown shade is sure to leave your mark wherever you go. Made just for your taste, strong and absolutely exquisite." Deep brown, it is not. It is more of a brown-based nude. This is the only nude that will suit medium-deeper complexions. A perfect 9 to 5 shade!

IT GIRL
"Finest gadgets and finest looks, you carry it all with the utmost ease! With this plum shade, you're sure to get gazillion likes in a flash of a minute. With your zeal, you're sure to rise above than the high-rise buildings of Bangalore. Mindful conversations and mind-blowing style, you've got it all!" This is really a very trendy shade. A beautiful mauve with plum undertones, this shade will flatter all complexions.

"For the girl who loves the winding lanes of the old city etched with the majestic Nawabi culture. If there was a Hyderabadi heirloom that would carry your essence, then this mauve shade would surely call out your name." It is a mauve shade which leans towards pink. This contains tiny golden glitters, not chunky or gritty, but visible to the naked eye. (The camera couldn't capture it, though). Would have been an everyday shade but the gold makes it more of a festive color.

MISHTI
"Add confidence, calmness and some guilt-free sweetness and you get this bright red shade! She is passionate, soothing and takes on the world with a purpose. Empathetic at heart, this girl is drenched in romance like one of Tagore's verses. Once you meet her, there's no going back!" This color represents my city, Kolkata and it has been aptly named, Mishti, because that's what the Bengali girl is, sweet beyond words (it's the roshogollas and mishti doi, you guys!). It is a true red and will instantly perk-up your complexion. Will suit all skin-tones.

That's all you guys! To put it in a nutshell, I like these lipsticks. They aren't very different than other liquid lipsticks available in the market, but they are pretty reasonable and also have a good shade range, which they have plans of expanding in the future. They also are really, really comfortable on the lips and quite long-lasting. However, I really like the creativity of the Nykaa team. Liquid Lipsticks which celebrate Indian women?
